The metal.ID is able to sort particles 20 µm and greater, determine basic material/chemical composition(metal, non-metal, fiber), determine elements, recognize 100 alloys and much more. This particular tool can identify the elemental distibution at a throughput rate of 300 - 1000 particles per hour. The metal.ID automated database can be configured to meet the strictest of quality standards whether it be ISO regulations or product–specific parameters.

An integrated metal.ID spectra (LIBS) library is available for the following elements: Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mo, Sn, Ba, Pb, Co, Fe, V, W, over 100 alloys, and much more. With the integrated database search software the particle spectra are interpreted and metallic elements are identified. All raw data including raw images, analyzed images, particle morphology, particle stitch (merging) and spectra are stored in a “results” file.

“You cannot control that which you do not measure.” In order to extend component life expectancy, optimize in-plant processes, lower replacement costs, decrease maintanance, avoid downtime and adhere to ISO regulations it is crtical to find the most accurate, repeatable, and cost effective solution to measure particles down to the micrometer. The solution is automated microscope analysis. Former methods of analysis required trained professionals and hours of labor but now with the SPE metal.ID 20 it is as easy as a touch of a button and takes only minutes.
